Job Description

Job Title: Building Services Design Engineer (from Mechanical or Electrical background) Location: Orpington Salary: up to £65k depending on experience Your new Company: Looking for a Mechanical or Electrical engineers from junior to senior to join a leading multi-disciplined construction and property consultancy that offers a comprehensive range of services to the UK building and construction industry. Their expertise spans civil & structural engineering, building & quantity surveying, clerk of works, project management, employers agent, architecture, mechanical & electrical engineering, sustainability, building information modelling, development monitoring, expert witness, fire consultancy, party wall, and health & safety. Key responsibilities: Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and Industry Design Guides and their application in design projects. Understanding Construction Stages and Delivery, working within project timelines. Knowledge of Company standards, procedures, culture, and values in relation to Clients and Professional Services, aligning with business objectives. Participation in on-site visits to enhance understanding of the built environment and construction process. Proficiency in reading and creating design drawings and models. Experience in manual and computerised engineering calculations using relevant software. Utilising 3D and 2D software for system design. Developing a general understanding of energy-efficient design, low/zero carbon technologies, BREEAM, and Passive House Design. Skills/Qualifications desired: Aspires to pursue a degree-level qualification and registration with the Engineering Council. Possesses strong computer skills. Effective team player with excellent communication abilities. Manages time efficiently and works within deadlines. Approaches tasks with order and accuracy. Proactively seeks advice and assistance when needed. Takes ownership of unallocated tasks to ensure the teams smooth operation. * A Level with grades A, B, or C, including Mathematics or Physical Science * Completion of a Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Building Services Design Technician (DDM) * Currently in the first year of completing a Building Services Engineering Qualification (HNC or HND – equivalent to Level 4) If you are interested in applying to this job, please feel free to reach out to me on (phone number removed) or sending your CV to (url removed).
