Contracts Surveyor £45k – £55k + Bens East London/Essex Border Company Established for over 35 years this successful contractor works within London, Herts and Essex areas providing full construction services from planned maintenance, major refurbishment and new build services within the public and private sectors. Typical projects include social housing, education, hospitals, commercial and residential with values typically from £1k to £1m although some are of greater value. They have an attractive order book with some blue chip clients with most orders by way of repeat business and have an excellent reputation for delivering of projects to strict programmes to budget. Contracts Surveyor / Senior You will be joining a fast moving and busy team taking full responsibility for multiple projects from initial enquiry and pricing, through production to completion and handover with values ranging from £1k to £1m. Projects are within London, Hertfordshire and Essex and you will be office based in Orpington. Typical tasks include: * carrying out site surveys and estimates, preparing and submitting quotes to clients * Planning programmes of works, arranging labour, materials, plant etc. * Overseeing sub-contractors * Ensure quality of work is delivered to customer and company high standards * Liaising with clients and keeping them well informed * Managing the progress of jobs, identifying problems and offering solutions. * Managing spends and profitability to ensure project are within budget and to programme and maximum profit * Ensuring Health and Safety is strictly adhered to * Reporting to the Director Preparing risk assessments and method statements as needed. This will require you to be highly organised and manage multiple projects simultaneously, allocating resources as needed to deliver projects to a high quality, safely, to programme and budget. You will: * Relevant experience within a UK Contractor in a similar role * Experienced in surveying and pricing of projects to £500k * Have first class communication and negotiation skills * Able to motivate employees and sub-contractors * Be commercially and contractually aware * Strong desire to achieve and progress within * Have polished client facing skills * Have a stable work history * A full UK drivers licence This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated person looking to join a small, successful team that has been highly successful within their sector that offers future progression opportunities for the successful person.
