Our client is a forward-thinking Main Contractor that specialise in new build Residential projects across London. As a business, they turnover more that £100 million and have been operating of over 20 years. During this period, they have worked on a range of Residential, Student Accommodation, Commercial and Hotels schemes. They have repeat client partners ranging from private sector developers to Housing Associations for whom they create exceptional residential and commercial solutions. Logistically challenging, high-rise and city-based schemes are core elements of their portfolio and where they really come into their own. Role: Design Manager We are currently seeking a Design Manager to join the business and lead a 100 unit RC Frame new build project in West London. The scheme is at the early stages and we are looking for someone to be site based, reporting into a Project Director. Responsibilities include but aren€™t limited to: * Appointing external consultants. * Resolving technical issues arising from sites. * Managing the consultants€™ appointment process & paperwork including: PI insurance, Collateral Warranties. * Checking working drawing packages produced by External Consultants. * Suggesting alternative construction methods, details, and materials to increase margin, improve quality and reduce lifetime costs. * Obtaining design drawings from suppliers and obtaining consultant approval. * Appointing / checking Landscape Architects details. * Checking Structural Engineers drawings in relation to the Architects drawings.
