About the Company: Our client is a multi-discipline Mechanical and Electrical Contractor Specialising in Design, Installation, Renewables and FM Works with a solid reputation across multiple sectors including Commercial, Residential, Leisure and Educational. Founded over 25 years ago our Client has built strong relationships with some of the Construction giants and prestigious clients which has led to large financial gains and a healthy book lined up. About the Role: Our client is looking to expand their business and striving for business growth, they are looking to expand their estimating team by bringing in a Electrical Estimator . The successful candidate would be responsible for overseeing estimates with project values ranging from £5 Million to £35 Million. Main Duties * develop new business opportunities and client relationships. * Produce accurate estimates that are detailed and inputted into the estimating software currently in use. * Work as part of a team whilst at the same time work unsupervised, prioritising workload through effective communication with all the estimating team. * Technically and commercially appraise all mechanical quotations on receipt. * Work closely with the Buying Department and the respective operations teams at the tender stage, handover and throughout the planning stages of each successful project. * Participate in the design development to assess the buildability, materials, innovation and cost-effectiveness of proposals. * Provide high-level pricing information early in the Tender for optioneering and budgeting exercises to ensure the most cost-effective solution is offered. * Prepare schedules for the Tender, using feedback from successful contracts and collaborating with other functions. * Participate in the preparation of a procurement plan with the central/regional buyers to agree suppliers & sub-contractors, terms & conditions and discount levels * Prepare enquiries and obtain competitive quotations for mechanical engineering resources, particularly materials and sub-contractors. Obtain completed construction and design questionnaires where appropriate. Candidate Requirements * Technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical and electrical installation methods and pricing * Must have minimum 2 years Electrical Estimating experience, preferably with experience working on projects worth over £10M or more * Experience on large residential projects * Strong mathematical and IT skills * Microsoft Office Benefits and Rewards: Salary will be agreed with each individual on a case-by-case basis depending on previous experience. As a rough guideline, I will be targeting individuals whose annual salary is within £45K to £60K with a company’s work package.
