By joining our family-owned business now, you can achieve more from your career by proudly building Britain’s future heritage with us.     The Sustainability Manager role To manage the delivery of the Sir Robert McAlpine sustainability strategy and client requirements on projects within the Midlands area. To deliver the requirements of the role the successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Sustainability Manager and construction project teams. The successful candidate should have experience in construction environmental management and delivering projects which are aligned to our sustainability strategy’s four category areas, namely Carbon, Resource Efficiency, Ethical Procurement and Social Value     Responsibilities   Ensuring our EMS is implemented on projects from tender stage with support from the Regional Sustainability Manager Ensuring that procurement documentation reflects the project sustainability requirements Ensuring that projects and supply chain comply with the requirements of legislation through regular site surveillances and audits Managing projects to reduce carbon emissions & waste and ensuring that goods and services are ethically procured. Ensuring each project understands their Client’s sustainability requirements (including delivery of environmental assessments e.g., BREEAM, Section 106 agreements etc.) Reporting project performance against Build Sure and client requirements in line with the company reporting requirements Reviewing project performance, identifying, and addressing areas of improvement Communicating our strategy aims and achievements coherently, getting buy in from wider staff base Identifying and communicating best practice across the business unit Delivery of training on environmental management and sustainability for the project staff and supply chain                                                                Essential Skills and Qualifications Experience in a construction environmental / sustainability role Qualifications / strong knowledge of environmental assessment methods (BREEAM, LEED, HQM etc). Technically review, advising and managing delivery of improve sustainability performance and environmental assessments (e.g., BREEAM, WELL, HQM, LEED) Managing delivery of the company & client sustainability requirements from preconstruction to practical completion     Rewards We’re ready to invest in you and your future, and offer wide-ranging, performance-related progression opportunities.
