Job Description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young adults and children? Have you previously provided guidance and support to young adults and children in a residential setting? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our committed team as a Family Support Worker and help our service users in need. ABOUT US: Prospero Health and Social Care are a lead staffing provider of comprehensive care services for teenagers facing various challenges. ROLE: As a family support worker, you will play a key part in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young adults who may have experienced trauma or face challenging circumstances. With a holistic approach, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to develop tailored care plans and provide complete support in areas such as behaviour management, emotional well-being, education, and life skills for the young person. RESPONSIBILITIES: . Establish positive relationship with young adults and children. . Conduct key work sessions as a group or individually to support the young person with their emotional, social and behavioural needs. . Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised care plans for the young person. . Work closely with other social service professionals, community organizations, and government agencies to coordinate services and support for the young person. . Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours as well as working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive living environment. . Maintain accurate and detailed records of each child’s progress and behaviour and complete reports and documentation in a timely manner. . Must be able to respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols. TO APPLY FOR THE ROLE: . Must have at least one year’s UK experience working with young adults and children within a residential settings or similar setting. . Have an accurate understanding of adolescent’s development, trauma informed care and evidence based interactions. . Ability to work collaboratively within a team. . Strong communication and interpersonal skills . Have an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to process a new one through Prospero . Be able to provide an up-to-date CV that dates back to education with dates for all employment. . Be able to provide 3 years professional references.
