Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Residential Development Location: West London Company Overview: Join a dynamic residential development company operating in the vibrant real estate market of West London. Position Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of there residential development projects. You will be responsible for cost estimation, tendering, cost control, contract administration, and value engineering to ensure the successful delivery of our developments on time and within budget. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our company while working on innovative residential projects in one of London’s most desirable areas. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates for residential development projects, including materials, labour, and other expenses. Develop and evaluate tender documents, analyse bids, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing variations to the budget. Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including processing payments and resolving disputes. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery. Conduct value engineering exercises to optimise project value while maintaining quality standards. Assess and mitigate risks to the project’s budget and schedule through proactive risk management strategies. Prepare final accounts and documentation at project completion, reconciling actual costs with the initial budget.Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential development sector, preferably in London or the surrounding area. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tendering processes, and cost estimation techniques. Excellent analytic and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and financial information. Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Proficiency in industry-standard software for quantity surveying and cost management.
