Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Civils contractor engaged on multi-utility projects in London, encompassing new connections and utility diversions, requires a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial department. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing financial and contractual aspects of utilities schemes. The role: * Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects * Negotiate and prepare contractual variations with clients * Conduct feasibility studies and analyse project specifications * Prepare tender documentation * Dispute resolution * Track project changes and log variations * Assess subcontractor applications * Perform quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities * Monitor project costs, provide cost control measures, value works on site * Review and evaluate contractor bids and proposals * Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost-effective solutions * Prepare monthly payment applications, CVRs, progress reports and financial statements * Prepare Early Warning Notice and Compensation Events * Maximise commercial opportunities for the company, whilst also minimising risks Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, within the utilities, highway or civil engineering sectors * Experience of NEC3 and JCT forms of contract * Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations * Proficient in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite * Excellent numerical and analytical skills * Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations * Effective communication and interpersonal skills If you are a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for utility projects, this Quantity Surveyor role is ideal for you.
