Job Description

Our Client is a leading construction firm (Main Contractor) whose services include but are not limited to Industrial/Logistics, Commercial Offices, Residential, Refurbishment, Sports and Leisure and Education across the UK. This is a live project for the construction of a self-storage facility in Barking, London, and are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to join their team to oversee the successful completion of this project. Job Description: As a Site Manager for our self-storage facility construction project in Barking, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient execution of all construction activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will be responsible for coordinating all on-site operations to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and budgetary constraints. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Planning and Execution: * Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with the project team. * Oversee the day-to-day operations on the construction site, including resource allocation, logistics management, and progress tracking. * Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards. 2. Safety and Compliance: * Prioritize and enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. * Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, address safety concerns, and maintain compliance with statutory requirements. 3. Quality Assurance: * Implement quality control measures to uphold the highest standards of workmanship and construction excellence. * Monitor construction activities to identify and resolve any quality-related issues promptly. 4. Stakeholder Management: * Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved in the project. * Foster positive relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. 5. Team Leadership: * Provide strong leadership and guidance to on-site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project objectives and milestones. * Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among all project stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred). * Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in the construction industry, with a track record of successfully managing commercial or industrial projects. * Sound knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials, particularly in the context of self-storage facility construction. * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. * Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and driving project success. * Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices. * Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and documentation. Additional Information: * This is a full-time, on-site position based in Barking, London, with regular working hours Monday to Friday, and occasional weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines. * Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
