Tier 1 Main Contractor – Design Manager (Educational Build) The Company: My client is a Tier 1 Main Contractor, they have a solid reputation as an international construction group and have an enviable forward order book of UK building projects. They specialise across a wide array of sectors such as: * Major residential regeneration schemes * Educational Build experience * New build and development of hospitals across central London * High spec residential builds The client is looking for a Design Manager with a recognized Main Contracting background. A background working on educational builds within their career would be looked upon favourably. Professional integrity and strong concern commercial detail in order to ensure success in programme creation and completion of project. Essential Criteria: * Motivating and encouraging internal and external design teams * Ensuring structural drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality, and are easy to decipher * Overseeing the design process using technical expertise * Working with clients to ensure that their expectations are met * Reviewing designs with health and safety in mind * Avoiding errors and reducing financial risk during construction * Ensuring designs are available to those who need them, at the appropriate time * Maintaining thorough documentation of the design process * Keeping up-to-date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design * Working in an office, with occasional site visits.
