Design Technician

Job Description

We are recruiting for a Design Technician to join an established business based in the Dudley area. The Design Technician will work as part of the design team and will ideally have some experience of working within the construction industry with a knowledge of building structures and a variety of materials ideally steel or cladding facades. This will be a varied role working and liaising with the team , candidates should have a good commercial awareness and be able to build strong relationships with customers. As the Design Technician you will be responsible for : * Supporting the structural engineering team, producing Revit and CAD Drawings * Assist the structural engineering team with specification and calculations * Provide technical support/advice to regional managers on a variety of issues (Training provided) * Attend design team meetings and site visits * Problem solving to reduce the number of issues/customer complaints * Develop and 3D model engineering designs in Autodesk Revit and produce drawings and details Requirements: * 2 years€™ experience within the construction industry * A working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD * A good knowledge building structures in materials (Ideally steel/Cladding facades) * Mathematical analysis skills * Able to work under pressure * Able to read engineering drawings and specifications * Commercially aware and able to build strong relationships * Excellent communication skills If you would be interested in the position of Design Technician please apply now with your up to date CV to be considered
